Large school district embraces new, award-winning audio and security technology.

ATLANTA, GA (August 12, 2016) – Wahsega Labs, Inc. (Wahsega), the designer and manufacturer of the highest quality VoIP endpoints in the market, celebrates the first day of school in the Tampa Bay area, where Wahsega’s InformaCast-enabled speakers and zone controllers were installed in the extensive renovations of several schools over the summer.

The school district was pleased with the significant cost savings achieved thanks to award-winning Wahsega technology which allows installers to reduce wire runs by half in most instances. This savings plus the ability to seamlessly integrate with Singlewire Software LLC’s InformaCast Advanced Notification System made Wahsega’s products the perfect solution for the school district’s needs.

A revolutionary development in classroom audio and security, Wahsega’s Two-Classroom 2×2 Ceiling Speaker with InformaCast and SIP provides multiple safety features at a high performance and low cost. A two-way intercom with the ability to broadcast emergency alerts and control door locks from InformaCast, just one Power-over-Ethernet run is needed to support Wahsega speakers in two separate classrooms. This helped installers conserve both equipment and labor costs on the projects while also reducing the amount of equipment for the school district’s IT department to manage.

The Wahsega speaker’s ability to integrate with standard panic buttons both enhances security and reduces false alarm calls thanks to its advanced button functionality. Easily integrated with schools’ Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CallManager) phone system, the speakers allow classroom occupants to communicate with a front office or quickly initiate a two-way emergency call if needed.

With InformaCast and SIP dual registration, integrated microphone, door lock relays for classroom safety, sound reinforcement, and advanced panic button functionality, the Two-Classroom Wahsega 2×2 Ceiling Speaker with InformaCast and SIP provided multiple safety and audio features in a single-product solution.

Also included in the Tampa Bay area school district projects, the Wahsega IP Paging Zone Controller with InformaCast and SIP boasts two line-level outputs which can operate independently, broadcasting alerts and announcements to amplifiers in two different audio zones. Each output can play up to three simultaneous InformaCast audio broadcasts, allowing emergency alert messages to play out over music streams or school announcements.

Configuration of the Wahsega products in each school was incredibly simple thanks to the InformaCast server software provided by Singlewire. Once the Wahsega devices were connected to the local network, the InformaCast server automatically recognized and registered them, enabling immediate access for broadcasts and announcements. In addition, installers were able to configure and customize the Wahsega products through their own included Web interface.

With simple setup, lowered equipment and labor costs, and innovative safety features, Wahsega’s InformaCast-enabled products provided the ideal solution for this Tampa Bay area school district. Learn more about Wahsega’s award-winning InformaCast solutions for K-12 schools at wahsega.com.
