Carina by Wahsega is a true team player, integrating with safety alert systems including Raptor Alert, Centegix, and other 3rd party audio sources to enhance your school’s communication.
Scenario
An alert is triggered by a third-party system, such as a panic button. Rather than existing as an isolated event, Carina instantly detects the audio output from that alert, automatically initiating both audio and visual announcements through your Carina speakers and IP Displays. Additionally, targeted SIP calls can be immediately placed to designated personnel. This rapid and automated response is critical when every second matters.
How Does It Work?
The key to this audio integration lies in the flexibility of the system. By connecting the audio output of your third-party device to the Wahsega Zone Controller’s line-in port using a standard Mono RCA cable, the zone controller can detect the audio signal and trigger pre-configured announcements, actions and events.
A World of Integration Possibilities
While Wahsega hasn’t tested every audio alert system on the market, our guide highlights several examples of systems that this integration method may work with, including:
- 911Cellular Panic Alarms: Leverage existing panic alarm systems to trigger immediate communication through Carina.
- Centegix CrisisAlert Intercom: Integrate with Centegix’s wearable safety technology for rapid response.
- CrisisGo: Connect your crisis management platform to Carina for unified communication during emergencies.
- Avigilon: Potentially integrate with Avigilon’s security solutions based on audio event triggers.
- Status Solutions: Enhance awareness and response by connecting to Status Solutions’ monitoring systems.
- Mobile Devices (iPhone/iPad & Android): Even the audio output from smartphones and tablets can be used to initiate broadcasts or calls via the Zone Controller.
Beyond Audio: Integration with Raptor Alert
It’s important to note that our commitment to integration extends beyond audio signals. For instance, Raptor Alert is already integrated with Carina via a direct API key. This dedicated integration allows for a more robust and feature-rich connection between the two platforms. We encourage you to refer to our dedicated announcement for specific details on how Raptor Alert and Carina integrate to enhance safety and security.
